Interlink Telecom are able to test your fibre installation and provide a record of our findings and offer advice in helping you future proof your network. We are able to test both single mode and multi mode fibre installations.
What is an OTDR?
Optical Time Domain Reflectometer - also known as an OTDR is a hardware device used for measurement of the elapsed time and intensity of light reflected on optical fibre.
How it works
The reflectometer can compute the distance to problems on the fibre such as attenuation and breaks, making it a useful tool in optical network troubleshooting.
Interlink Telecom are able to attend your premises and test your fibre network and produce a catalogue of results which will help when planning your network expansion. It will produce a record of each fibre and includes the following information:
- Fibre length to help determine the maximum data transmission speed
- Light loss along the fibre length
- Highlight faults and breaks and where they occur
